In 15th century Spain was being governed by muslims. The muslim rulers and people were innovative, socially sound and revolutionary. They brought so many innovations to Spain and Europe including parachutes. They also had considerable experiences in planning, construction and they introduced latest techniques of medicines, health and curing people.
Muslim traders and tourists used to pass or travel through Monte Carlo a city in Monaco, due to its large coastal area and romantic weather as tourists used to sail ships and boats.
In between 15th and 16th century, Arab Muslims introduced seeds of Jasmine and Rose in the people who sowed those seeds and very quickly the lands of Grasse were converted into heaven and mesmerizing gardens of nice smelling flowers.
Interestingly, tourists were fascinated by the fragrance of those jasmine and rose flower's gardens. This fragrance gave an impetus to the tourists to start their trades by sowing more varieties of flowers and lot of people started to sell various types of flowers to people who make soap, shampoos and perfumes from those flowers.
With the passage of time, the people of Grasse who were just selling flowers to other cities and countries, learned to make their own perfumes from those beautiful and heart touching flowers. Eventually, glass making companies, packing companies also made their way towards Grasse to contribute in the packing of these perfumes into beautiful glass bottles. Several laboratories were also formed in Grasse to test different types of fragrances and finally, every type of perfume was available in city of Grasse.
In 1747, Galimard was formed in Grasse which was the first perfume factory of the world. Later on, in 1929, another factory called fragonard was formed in Grasse.
Today, more than 50 perfume making factories are operating in Grasse which supply top class and the best perfumes to the world.
The people of Grasse made their country proud by making perfume their trade mark and success embraced them.
