Britain was a country with the strongest and more powerful navy in the world. The need of strong and powerful navy was due to protection of Britain its gigantic overseas empire.
Other European countries including Germany also started to build up their defense, navy in particular.
The Germany was a menace to Britain, Britain was very perplexed that Germany can take its colonies which Britain never want to loose.
From 1906, this race of building arms and advanced weapons entered a new phase. Since than, Germany and Britain competed each other and started to build new weapons and super battlefields. These super battlefields are called Dreadnoughts which were very powerful weapons to deter others. Meanwhile, the dreadnoughts were the very advanced weapons of their time. so the prevailing weapons are results of these gigantic dreadnoughts.
