New mayor of London Sadiq khan was born in 1970, he was the
fifth of eight siblings (seven brothers and one sister) born to Pakistani
parents. His parents were living in Earlsfield.
One thing was very prominent about the father of the mayor,
and he himself has mentioned in his mayoral campaign that his father was a bus
driver. His father came to Britain in 1960’s. Before entering parliament, sadiq khan (the
new and the only muslim mayor in the history of London) he was a human
rights lawyer back in 2005. He served as junior minister for communities and transport
minister in 2009.
The rundown of priorities he wants to do for London are:
Building more houses, make sure housing is more affordable,
transport, sort out air pollution, restore neighborhoods policies, decrease gangs and knife crimes, reviewing the
resourcing of fire services, work with
employers to make London a living wage city, remove the barriers to women’s
success, make London the more tolerant city.
The most interesting thing Sadiq khan wants to do is: he wishes
to become the pro-business mayor. Finally, I want to mention one of his interests
in football that he is a Liverpool fan.
