Violence can be used as a tool to solve something in short
term but it cannot be used as an efficient tool to solve something in long run.
To be simple, a non-violent solution last longer and payoffs more than a
violent solution. No one wants the Israel to drop a bomb on Palestine and
resolve the issue or no one wants India and Pakistan to instigate a war to
solve the dispute of Kashmir because there is lot of suffering, pain, loss of
lives on and on. And majority will want to resolve the dispute through a
peaceful diplomacy because it avoids the losses. The politics of resolving an
issue rather than handling the problem by starting war is the emblem of most of
the successful and diplomatic people.
If we dive into the past, the major devastation were the
causes of stupid leaders who used violence as a first resort rather than using
it as a last resort. Example is World War 1. The Serbia and Austro-Hungarian Empire
were in a dispute because the heir to Austro-Hungarian throne, Archduke Francis
want to merge Serbia with his empire. Austro-Hungary was a dual monarchy and
Archduke Francis wants to convert it into tri monarchy by inclusion of Serbia.
On the other hand, the people and government of Serbia were not in a favor of
this inclusion of Serbia into the empire while they want a united Serbia. The
Serbian nationalist group; Black Hand collude with the government and
assassinated the heir which initiated the gigantic world war. There was lot of
room for negotiations and diplomacy in lieu of killing the heir, there can be a
peaceful table talk to resolve the issue between the empire and Serbia but
unfortunately, the opted for violence which resulted in approximately 38
million lives.
Furthermore, no one could forget the battle of Pearl Harbor
(US naval base) in the Hawaii state of America. Japan commenced attack on the
Pearl Harbor which claimed more than four thousand lives and more than that, it
was a reason for US to enter into the world war later on it dropped two atomic
bombs on Japanese cities. In lieu of attacking on the American naval base,
japan had other options as well. Japanese authorities could have started
bilateral agreements with US government to stay aloof the war or any other sort
of diplomacy to avoid the war. There is always a room for the mutual affection
for two or more than two countries nonetheless this option, the leaders go for
the war and violence which is not a good option. I would name this type of insane decision the
enemy of humanity which results in the losses of lives of impeccable people and
I consider the one who opt for such a type of foul play are the most
incompetent people of the world.
Moreover, everyone heard about the Little boy and Fat boy.
These were the secret names to the atomic bombs dropped on the Japanese cities
on 6,9th august 1945 which collectively killed more than 1.5 lac
people, hundreds of people were wounded and even now, there is a physical
disorder in newly born child. In the history of US leadership I think that the
president Harry Truman declaration to bomb Japanese cities, Hiroshima and
Nagasaki on 6th and 9th august 1945 was a biggest anti
human and a big foul play. As American president is the powerful personality,
he can start a peace dialogues, can sign peace accords to stop the war, or even
force the ally countries to withdraw from the war, but what he did was
commanded to drop bombs. Very surprising and vengeful.
Eventually, violence is considered such a useless act that
only incompetent could choose it and a quote well suits the above sentence
that” violence is the last refuge of incompetent”.
