I was attentive to the television channels and very happy to watch the top brass military officers, Generals in particular. On 10 September 2015 at 11 am i met with Lt.General Nasir khan janjua, commander southern command and X11 corps in the auditorium of Quaid i azam university Islamabad where he came with his military guards and a little protocol. X11 corps is currently stationed in quetta(balochistan,pakistan) and very major part of southern command.
Lt.General started his presentation with very sweet and polite words of applause and hope from students and he asked students from Baluchistan to raise their hands and said that they are ray of hope and change in Baluchistan and our expectations lie in you.
he started his presentation from the soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 and the threats and challenges to Pakistan and role of Pakistan, he shown the pictures of how pak-army has laid a path which give a platform where every citizen of Baluchistan has participated in sports and other activities safely. he shown us pictures of poor people hoisting Pakistani white and green flag on their carts and houses, some made their rickshaws white and green to show patriotism.
before his appearance on the stage a patriotic song was played and when he left the stage again another patriotic song was played.
he showed the audience how Pakistan army actively manoeuvre in Baluchistan to end the political unrest on and on.
but in the end, there happened some interesting exchange of words. one of the faculty of Quaid i azam university DSS department Ms Aliya Hoodboy raised questions on the recent working of Pakistan army in Baluchistan. she said the Mr.General, why you don't show the another side of Pakistan army that it is hanging innocent people and making them missing and killing them brutally in Baluchistan? and meanwhile, she asked a very hard question from him that janjua sahab! who gave you permission to come here and deliver speeches in universities? we have constitutionally elected political leaders to come here and have talks with us and resolve the political issues. though it was point to be ponder for the general public that what actual duty of a Lt.General is.
eventually, i have few words rotating in my mind. that are the security circumstances really been cooled down in Baluchistan or are they showing fake and patriotic pictures to the public?
my question finally is: is BLA very difficult task for army, and from where BLA get impetus to strengthen their activities and secondly, how are the civil-military relations in Balochistan?what about the foreign activities by RAW in Baluchistan? because Pakistani people caste doubts on these.
