At least 29 people were injured as a result when a dumpster
blew up outside the blind associated blind housing facility at 135 W23rd
Street. But fortunately no one is reported dead. New York mayor told a press
conference and announced that they don’t find any link to any terrorist at this
moment.
The explosion was described by few eye witnesses as a “loud
boom”. Another witness described it as “oh God it’s a bomb, and I lay down on
the ground. I look outside and its all broken doors, glasses and people were
shouting crazily, cars were alarming, and I still don’t know either it was a
bomb explosion or something else.
The people inside facility were told to remain inside the
facility unless the situations are better. Police began their investigation.
Nearby buildings, the buildings to the east of the facility in particular were
being evacuated for security purpose. There was no fire in the vicinity but
adequate ambulances, fire brigades, and other emergency vehicles moved to the
scene to do precautionary steps. Mean while a bomb squad is searching for
another similar device which can cause more damage.

A law enforcing official told people that a second device
that officers were curious to find was a pressure cooker attached to wires and
a mobile. This device was found some four to five blocks from the affected
area. Authorities are trying to do more investigations to search more devices
to protect the people. FBI assured that the second device was being secured and
no repercussions are there, but preventions are required.
On Saturday, a bomb exploded in a New Jersey beach town in
the same city-New York city but it didn’t cause any injuries. To find some
connections between these two explosions, FBI are now investigating the New
Jersey incident. Though are no indications that these two explosions are
interlinked but for the investigation purpose FBI has to do it.
